The Trustees are supported by a wider group called the Friends’ Committee:
The Curator - Dan Stirland. Dan’s role is to provide the historical context to the exhibitions and to undertake the curatorial work that makes the Bunker such a well respected museum. Dan also co-ordinates all volunteer activities, conducts tours, completes his own research into the Battle of Britain and ensures that communications including websites, Twitter and Facebook are up to date with the latest news from the Bunker.
Officer-in-Charge of Battle of Britain Bunker, Squadron Leader Richard Willis, from RAF Northolt. Richard is not only responsible for promoting and supporting heritage matters at RAF Northolt but he is also the Media and Communications Officer linking the Bunker to the wider community.
Officer Commanding Support Wing RAF Northolt, Wing Commander Mark Leaming, has abroad portfolio in keeping everything running at RAF Northolt. He is new to the post in September 2012 and we have already learned that he is a keen weekend historian so he will be definetly signed up as one of growing band of Friends.
Gareth Rossiter is the Secretary responsible for organisng and recording Trustee meetings. Gareth and his dog, Ruby, were a familiar sight at the Bunker when they served at RAF Uxbridge and sadly locked the gates.
A representative from the London Borough of Hillingdon, who shall be nominated by the Leader of the Council.
Up to two Elected Members, both of whom will be elected by the Friends, and hold their post for a term of one year. Stephen Senft and Bob Jeffries are our Elected Members and find themselves in doing all sorts of jobs, including keeping this website up to date, in support of the Friends.
The RAF Northolt Defence Estates Team Leader shall be co-opted as the Estates Advisor.
The RAF Northolt Officer Commanding Force Development Squadron shall be co-opted as the Force Development Advisor.
